The sequence of frequencies that are integer multiples of a fundamental: f₀, 2f₀, 3f₀, 4f₀, ... The ratios between adjacent harmonics approximate simple musical intervals: the 2nd harmonic gives an octave, the 3rd a perfect fifth above that, the 4th another octave, the 5th a major third, and so on.
