The Problem

The Three Things She Learned

First: Domain specificity dramatically increases signal density. The marketing-specific newsletter consistently passes her "would this change what I do?" test; the general AI newsletters rarely do. The practical insight per minute consumed is an order of magnitude higher for domain-specific sources.

Second: First-party learning beats second-hand coverage. Her team's AI channel, where colleagues share what they're actually doing and finding, is more immediately applicable than anything she reads externally. Her team members are testing things in her specific context. No newsletter is.

Third: The sustainable pace is lower than the instinctive pace. Her instinct was to consume more AI content to stay more current. The reality was that consuming less, more carefully chosen content made her more effective and less anxious. The FOMO was worse than the actual ignorance would have been.
