What's wrong with this frame? (seeing questions)

23. A photograph of a child's birthday made from standing adult height: the child is small and far down in the frame, the cluttered kitchen counter fills the background, and you're looking down on the scene. Name two changes of position (not settings) that would transform this, and what each would do.

24. A landscape: a beautiful mountain range, but in the photo the mountains look small, distant, and unremarkable behind an empty patch of grass. The photographer stood close to the grass and used a wide lens. The photographer wanted the mountains to feel grand. Diagnose what went wrong in terms of distance and focal length, and prescribe the fix.

25. A portrait shot from about a foot away with a phone's main (wide) camera: the subject's nose and forehead bulge toward you, their ears seem tiny and far back, and the edges of the frame stretch their shoulders oddly. Name the effect, explain its cause, and give the fix — and say explicitly what is not the cause.

(Adding a deliberate foreground anchor up close and shooting wide is the other valid path — but then the foreground, not the mountains, becomes the star.)

25. The effect is wide-angle distortion / foreshortening. Cause: shooting from very close enlarges the nearest features (nose, forehead) and shrinks the farthest (ears), while the wide lens's edge projection stretches forms near the frame edges. Fix: distance — back up and use a longer focal length (the phone's telephoto, or a tight crop from farther away) so features sit at near-equal distances and proportions read true. What is not the cause: the lens being "bad" or "soft" — a wide lens used at a respectful distance introduces no foreshortening; the close distance caused it.
