โš ๏ธ The question is not who is to blame. It is what the system is optimizing for, and what it would take to change the objective.

ยง36.1 โ€” Give the System Its Due

โš ๏ธ The same system roughly tripled cereal yields, made famine in most of the world a political rather than an agricultural event, and made calories cheaper relative to income than ever.

โš ๏ธ Which is why the problems are what they are: a system optimized for calories per hectare delivers calories per hectare, and composition was never the objective.


โš ๏ธ ยง36.2 โ€” WHY THE CHEAPEST CALORIES ARE WHAT THEY ARE
